BASWAphon Frosted Finish

Frosted, Seamless Sound Absorptive Acoustical Finish System

This “Frosted“ System has the lowest installed cost with the following advantages:

  1. The “Frosted” System has BASWAphon’s “light sand” finish. The “light sand” finish hides many minor imperfections in the finished surface, especially with critical lighting. The NRC Rating for the “Frosted” 30-mm System is 0.75, the “Frosted” 40-mm System is 0.80 and the “Frosted” 68-mm System is 0.85.

  2. Up to 5,000 s.f. can be installed in one continuous surface.

  3. The “Frosted” System consists of a factory pre-coated “supporting” panel (a bonded mineral wool backing coated with glass “micro-spheres”), a trowel applied Base 407 coat (coarse marble aggregate in a proprietary emulsion) and a spray applied “Frost” Coat (fine marble aggregate in a proprietary emulsion).

  4. The “Frosted” System can be curved in one or two directions very easily for a nominal cost increase.

  5. The “Frosted” System can be integrally pigmented to match any color, including black or other deep, dark colors.

  6. Touch-up of the “Frosted” System should be performed by a qualified BASWAphon Technician, however on-site personnel can be easily trained to perform most required repairs.

  7. The “Frosted” System is not water soluble. The “Frosted” finish surface is very durable and can be washed, even “scrubbed” with a brush and rinsed with clean water to remove most stains.

  1. Spray applied BASWAphon "Frost" Coat

  2. Trowel applied BASWAphon 407 Base Coat

  3. Pre-Coated BASWAphon Supporting Panel

  4. BASWAphon Adhesive

  5. Stable Substrate

BASWAphon Classic Finish

This “Classic” System continues to set the aesthetic and acoustical standard for all seamless acoustical products with the following properties:

  1. The “Classic” System is BASWAphon’s premium product with a smooth hand troweled finish. Inherent with any hand troweled product, slight variations or imperfections in the finished surface may be visible with critical lighting. The NRC Rating for the “Classic” 30-mm System is 0.75, 40-mm System is 0.80, the “Classic” 68-mm System is 0.857.

  2. Up to 5,000 s.f. can be installed in one continuous surface.

  3. The “Classic” System consists of a factory pre-coated “supporting” panel (a bonded mineral wool backing coated with glass “micro-spheres”), a trowel applied Base 407 coat (coarse marble aggregate in a proprietary emulsion) and a trowel applied Top Coat (fine marble aggregate in a proprietary emulsion).

  4. The “Classic” System can be curved in one or two directions with relative ease at a minor cost increase.

  5. The “Classic” System can be integrally pigmented to match any “pastel” to “medium deep” color (where deep colors are specified, the “Frosted” System is recommended).

  6. Touch-up and cleaning of the “Classic” System must be performed under the direction of a qualified BASWAphon Technician. The Top Coat of the “Classic” System will “activate and soften” with prolonged exposure to water.
